Influenza cases in the U.S. declined for the third consecutive week, according to the CDC. However, six more children died of the illness, bringing the pediatric death toll to 86, while the pneumonia- and influenza-related death rate "was above the epidemic threshold," officials noted. As the days become longer we move towards spring. Hardwood tree pollen is starting to be detected. If you suffer from spring pollen allergies, startng allergy medicines before the end of February is advised. Feel free to schedule an appointment for an exam and discussiion concerniong airborne allergens.

CDC officials reported Monday that the nation's measles toll has reached 121 cases in 17 states and Washington, D.C. Eighty-five percent of cases were associated with the Disneyland outbreak, and most of the people affected were not immunized. HealthDay News

The influenza season may be past its peak, but it is still wide spread.

 Keep healthy, wash your hands often.If you are ill with fever stay home.

Get a 2014-2015 influenza vaccine if not already vaccinated.

The vaccine is helpful even if some circulating flu is a slightly different strain from this year's vaccine. We have seen mostly Flu A this winter but now we are seeing some Flu B which is in this years vaccination.
